About the site

This site features a gallery of cover recreations I have carried out for fans of classic (or indeed not so classic!) comic-book cover artwork. Fans who love the original pieces but have no opportunity of ever owning them. Or who want to give an unusual gift to that comic-book geek in their life. Enjoy browsing, I'll be putting up more as I get them done!

The Amazing Spider-Man #119

Here's a recreation of a classic Spider-man cover featuring the meeting of Marvel's two most famous characters; Spider-man and the Hulk. Original artwork by 'Jazzy' Johnny Romita, my second favourite Spidey artist (see Steve Ditko for my favourite!). The recreation turned out very well, if I do say so myself...

X-Men #1

Journey Into Mystery #83

The Norse God of Thunder really existed! That was the impression I got on reading Thor, as my Dad knew all about him - and Loki and Odin and all the rest - without having read my Thor comics (Unless he was reading them in secret, a possibility that only occured to me now...) Thus, he existed outside of the comics, an utterly thrilling concept to my comic-book intoxicated mind! The God of Thunder made his first comic-book appearance in "Journey into Mystery" issue 83, the cover of which I was commissioned to do recreate a couple of years ago.

The Hulk #1

There have now been 2 Hulk movies (and of course the TV series) but Hollywood has yet to succeed in capturing that 'Kirby' look that I want to see in my live-action Hulk. Nobody drew him quite like The King...
